A recent assignment for Plastic Surgeon was caused by vandalism, where an intruder attacked four doors in a medical research building.
The contract focused on the new Biomedical Building at Strathclyde University where O’Neill Interiors had installed a series of composite doors. The Perspex in the doors was badly damaged, however with Plastic Surgeon’s recently developed technique for dealing with scratches in Perspex, the doors were able to be repaired. All four doors were invisibly repaired, says the firm, employing a bespoke polishing process with a minimum of interruption to the fit out programme.
Iain McCallum from O’Neill Interiors commented: “It took the Fine Finisher less than two days to complete the work and everyone is completely happy with the way the doors now look. It has saved in the region of £4,000 for their replacement, plus the delay there would have been in re-ordering which could have run to weeks.”
