Kier uses Plastic Surgeon construction repair services
Having already built up a very strong trading relationship over the past decade, Plastic Surgeon has now signed a Preferred Service Agreement with the Western & Wales region of Kier Construction and its social housing arm, Kier Living.
The agreement, which was finalised in October, provides the nationally regarded construction company the security of set rates and agreed response times, as well as other benefits, for a very wide range of the construction repair services offered by Plastic Surgeon. Early indications are that the new arrangement will only serve to enhance the day-to-day interaction of the Finishers with Kier’s site management and other staff; while also delivering economies of scale.
Rick Nurse is Kier Construction’s Supply Chain Manager, Western & Wales; he commented: “Kier Construction are pleased to be working in partnership with Plastic Surgeon and have recently signed a Regional PSA for cosmetic repairs across our sites within the South West and Wales Region. Kier have worked with Plastic Surgeon for over 10 years and have found their professionalism, service quality and technical abilities to be of a consistently excellent standard.
“The recent formalisation of our relationship with the Regional PSA further strengthens the association between our companies, and it is hoped that this can be replicated across other Kier Regions during 2014 and beyond.
“Kier recognise the value and benefit that Plastic Surgeon is able to provide to our sites and project teams, as their involvement will frequently obviate the need to replace cosmetically damaged building materials, saving Kier cost and minimizing the inevitable delays and disruption that ensue where replacement materials are introduced late in the construction process.”
Rick continued saying: “The peace of mind that engaging Plastic Surgeon has brought to our Site Management coupled with the cost predictability that our Commercial Department are looking for has helped develop the confidence that Kier has in working with Plastic Surgeon.”
Dave Craig who is Plastic Surgeon’s primary point of contact for the Kier account, reflected: “We have enjoyed a very good working relationship with Kier for as long as I can remember, and it is important that all of their site teams know who we are and what we can do.
“It means that we are not in the position of having to ‘sell’ the work in respect of every contract; the personnel on the ground either phone me or contact the main call centre – and a Finisher is directed to the job within the agreed time frame. Thanks to the agreement the Kier personnel know we have all the health & safety and other accreditations and that we are available to repair everything from chipped stonework to all the interior surfaces like ceramics, timber and glass.”
Over the past year Plastic Surgeon’s has have been active on sites across the south west from Cornwall and Devon, across Somerset to Bristol and up through Wales. Aside from housing schemes the Finishers have worked with Kier on schools, hospitals, commercial developments and leisure facilities.
