Cherished wooden sideboard repaired
When it comes to valuable pieces of furniture, it is not only centuries old antiques which are irreplaceable, but often also items which have significant sentimental value to the owners; as was the case recently when Plastic Surgeon, the national cosmetic repair specialist, was called to a home in Newcastle where a hardwood sideboard had been accidentally damaged when a satellite TV engineer tried to move it.
Oak wood floor repaired after art crash
Having a treasured painting fall of the wall and smash is bad enough, but in the case of one couple in Peterborough, the loss was made far worse by the damage the broken glass and frame caused to the oak floor in the hall below. Thankfully, however, one of Plastic Surgeon's highly trained Finishers was able to effect permanent repairs to the surface, and match these in with the wider area which totalled more than 30 square metres.
Stone repair to damaged house elevation
The owner of a property was left in an unenviable position when the contractor carrying out major building works went into liquidation. Not only was the project unfinished, but areas to the external stonework had suffered physical damage and the disfigurement of mortar droppings. The client opted to call on the services of Plastic Surgeon in order to remedy the problems and achieve closure.
Stone re-coating on new porch extension
When the client had a porch extension built on the front of her house, it was not at all in keeping visually with the rest of the property, which has been constructed using reconstituted cills, pillars and lintels. Instead, these details for the new extension had been cast using plain concrete in the shape of stonework and, once completed, looked so out of place that the occupier called upon Plastic Surgeon to find a solution.
Marble fireplace repair for insurance customer
Plastic Surgeon was called in by Aviva Insurance to a customer's house in Doncaster. The customer had recently had trades people in to remove some old floor tiles in the lounge. The work involved smashing many of the old tiles in order to remove them.
Building repair to fire damaged house
When a blaze broke out in a group of retail units on Canvey Island, not only were the half dozen businesses completely destroyed, but there was also considerable damage caused by smoke and heat to the residential building next door.
