According to the Halifax, UK house prices fell by 0.9% in February compared with the previous month, which basically means that the small rise in January has been cancelled out.
Depressingly for the homeowner, the lender reported that year-on-year prices dropped by 2.8% in February, and that the uncertain economic climate would weigh down the housing market even further. This will lead to what Halifax’s Martin Ellis, a housing economist, describes as “a modest fall in property value in 2011, owing primarily to buyer and seller uncertainty.”
He went on to say: “Fewer properties have been coming onto the market in recent months. This trend, if sustained, should improve the balance between demand and supply and help to prevent a more significant fall in house prices.”
Interestingly, though, a survey by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, published in February, found the cost of renting a home rose at a rapid rate in the three months to January.
So whether you are an owner-occupier, or a landlord, it is pretty obvious that now is not the best time to sell. But if you do have to sell up – or you want to increase the value of your property while waiting for the market to improve, then you need to call upon the services of Plastic Surgeon.
Now I can hear some of you bemoaning their current financial situation. Saying: “But I can’t afford it! Everything is going up – fuel, food, energy bills. So how can we smarten up our property, even though I know there’s a chip in the bath, a gouge out of the kitchen worktop where my other half dropped a drill when putting up those shelves. Then what about that scratch in the glass on the patio doors?” Plus probably the hard winter has caused a chunk of stone to come away from the cill under the living room window.
So do you say: “To replace all these damaged things would cost a fortune. I haven’t got that sort of money, I’ll just have to accept the fact that any buyer or tenant is going to push me down on price even further.”
Help, however, is at hand – you need to replace none of these things if you use us, for our finishers at Plastic Surgeon can repair ALL of the above, plus more. Quite simply, repairing rather than replacing a kitchen worksurface removes the need to buy new, which then requires calling in the plumber/tiler/carpenter to make good. We can fill that gouge, sand it back, and then colour-match the repair by hand-mixing the coating to match stone, granite or wood and marble, as well as composites.
We can do the same with stone cills and surrounds, as well as with enamel, steel and plastic baths, sinks, toilets and bidets. While for scratches in glass, our finishers can carefully polish them out. We can repair floor or wall tiles, PVC door and window profiles, we can brick tint and clean dirty or graffiti covered substrates. All at a fraction of the cost of replacement.
In fact, this Plastic Surgeon can repair damage to just about anything that isn’t flesh and blood. So while waiting for the housing market to recover, don’t move until you improve, with our help.
