A strong operations manager works hard to encourage staff to perform at their best ability by ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to carry out the job.

Overseeing the operations of any business is a demanding task. An operations manager needs to ensure that the business is running to its maximum potential and have the ability to think analytically, communicate effectively and execute efficiently.

Taking on this task is Mark Johnson, newly appointed to the role of Regional Operations Director at Plastic Surgeon Fine Finishers. Having worked for the surface damage repair company for over 20 years, Johnson is looking forward to taking up a new challenge in the company with over 250 employees and is looking forward to a period of growth and restructuring.

New company mentoring programme

A strong operations manager works hard to encourage staff to perform at their best ability by ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to carry out the job.

With this in mind, Johnson is backing a new company initiative to introduce a comprehensive mentoring programme that will see all new finishers trained to exacting standards.

Mark explains;

“We have been working hard on the introduction of a new mentoring programme which has been put in place to enable us to build a solid structure for all new starters to enable them to develop and learn under the wings of some of our top finishers.

We have developed a programme which will see the trainees shadowing an experienced finisher for an extended period of time, travelling to different sites to gain valuable practical experience under the guidance of an expert. One of the key purposes of the mentoring scheme is to identify goals, mark progress and ensure that our trainees are getting the opportunity to practise a full range of techniques in a broad range of settings.”

Equipping the next generation of finishers to work at our exacting standards

As the new mentorship programme rolls out, the aim is that the new trainees will be inspired as they progress through the ranks with a motivated and innovative workforce behind them and a strong foundation that will ensure the continued success of the business as it moves forward.

“Who better to pass on their years of experience and inspire a new generation of trainees to start careers in Fine Finishing than the professionals currently at the top of their game”.

Working towards a bright future

As Plastic Surgeon emerges from the pandemic, it is in a strong position to flourish and develop as the market returns to full capacity. A strong operations team will play a vital role in this success and the company’s long-term future success.
