New investment in R&D boosts industry-leading capabilities

Strengthening our repair capabilities and continuing to set pioneering standards within the industry is an incredibly important part of what we do at Plastic Surgeon. As part of this vision we are significantly increasing our investment in the research and development arm of the business.

Gary Danson – Operations Director at Plastic Surgeon

Gary Danson, Operations Director for Plastic Surgeon said: “As market leaders, it’s vital we push the boundaries of possible repairs. Increasing our investment in research and development will ensure we continue to use the most innovative products and techniques on the market and maintain our cost effective, high quality services for clients.”

He continued “By constantly developing our offering, we’re able to stay ahead of the proverbial curve, conducting industry leading repairs that our rivals simply can’t match.”

Dedicated resource for R&D

The recent appointment of James Winston, as Senior Finisher for Research and Development, is one way we’re driving forward our vision for the future. Having worked as a finisher at Plastic Surgeon for the past four years, James has extensive repair experience and has operated right across the UK, as well as internationally through the firm’s cruise ship repair offering. Working as a mentor in the field, James then went on to take up a training role at head office from which he has now progressed into the R&D capacity.

In the new role, he’ll be helping to cover the full spectrum of R&D, looking at new repair products, new repair techniques and new ideas for existing techniques.

Gary Danson said of James: “James is incredibly enthusiastic about our repair procedures and with his methodical and focused attitude to developing new techniques and working with new products, his professionalism will undoubtedly help to drive us forward.”

Manager checking damage repairBoosting our safety credentials

Safety has always been an important factor at Plastic Surgeon, but the new investment and appointment of James will help to give it greater emphasis. The firm’s finishers work with a multitude of chemicals to treat a broad range of substrates, so looking to ensure safe handling and safe use is key. By analysing existing products and exploring new chemical compounds, we aim to both improve expertise and ensure any potential harm is minimalised.

Gary Danson concluded: “The fact that we’re looking to focus on new repair techniques has already been very well received by the wider team who love to take on new innovations. We’re really looking forward to seeing what can be achieved and in turn how this will benefit our customers.”
