GRP (glass reinforced plastic or polyester) is a laminate composite of glass fibres within a polyester resin. A versatile building material, it is used for example. in exterior cladding panels, roofing panels, drainage components or for decorative features.
Pictured here, the GRP forms a decorative cladding for a pillar in a block of flats, which had a large hole gouged out of it. To carry out this GRP pillar repair, our Finisher firstly filled the hole and created a smooth, level surface, before mixing a selection of pigments and re-creating the wood grain texture by hand.
