We were asked to restore a large marble countertop in a very prominent public area on board a luxury cruise liner, approximately 15 meters in length and spanning several different levels. The damage was a serious dulling and matting of the surface due to constant daily cleaning and abrasions caused by coins, keys and other items being passed across the surface leaving it looking degraded and most of the natural detail of the stone being lost.
Marble is quite soft and will stain and pit easier than harder stones such as Granite. Marble is susceptible to staining by all acids, typical examples would be food and drink acids such as vinegar, tomato juice etc but most importantly incorrect cleaning agents and the mineral content of the local water supply.
We carry out marble repairs and restoration using our own specially developed system. We use this to polish and restore marble surfaces such as marble worktops, bathroom vanity units and marble floor tiles.
Tell us about your damage and we can provide a no-obligation quote.
