Whirlpool bath repair hits the spot

Plastic Surgeon has formulated a special coating and process for replicating a factory applied gel coat to large damaged whirlpool baths on board cruise ships.

The damage is caused by tiny air pockets between the fibre-glass pools and the surface gel coat. Because the gel coats are porous, water gradually seeps through into any air holes beneath and starts to form a mould growth, causing black spots.

The process involves completely removing the surface coating, before starting the whirlpool bath repair.

The surface gel coat fills up with water, leading to mould growth and black spots.  In severe cases the whirlpools have to be taken out of use.
