National recycling week – join the fight against climate change now

16th September 2021

It's National Recycle Week – the week of the year when a light shines on the goal of galvanising the public into recycling more of the right things, more often.

Step it Up

The Climate Crisis is something we can actively do something about. Every one of us, every single day. Most of us already do, through small but powerful habits – like recycling. We know environmental concerns are still on the increase, so we need to do more. We need to do it now. And we need to act together. It’s time to join the fight against climate change. Step It Up this Recycle Week. https://www.recyclenow.com/

Think before you throw

Many of the large household items we are considering throwing away, can be upcycled or restored and that’s where the services of a hard surface repair specialist, like Plastic Surgeon, can help restore a vast range of household items that can be restored to give years more service. As the UK’s largest hard surface repair specialist, our nationwide team of over 200 finishers are able to restore much of the damage to kitchen units, ceramic and uPVC, cladding, stone & brick and doors.

We work across a wide range of construction and development sites as well as in domestic settings for both insurance and homeowner repairs.

Protect the environment and conserve resources

Every time new items are made, raw materials are used – Extracting (mining, quarrying and logging) raw materials creates substantial air and water pollution. We can help reduced this by re-using items where possible rather than buying new.

Reduce waste to landfill

You can help protect the environment as re-using items reduces the amount of waste sent to landfill. There are over 1,500 landfill sites in the UK, and in 2001, these sites produced a quarter of the UK’s emissions of methane, a powerful greenhouse gas.

Savings can be made by repairing surface damage.

Annually our finishers repair well in excess of 700,00 single items, saving over 4000 tonnes of landfill waste. On average our repair costs are only 1/3 of the cost of replacement so the benefits of utilising our services are advantageous on many levels.
