We’ve recently been undertaking a large contract with Morgan Sindall at Porth in Wales, which sees us carrying out specialist repairs at Tonyrefail comprehensive school.
The school is undergoing a multi-million pound restoration/renovation project, with Morgan Sindall the main contractor overseeing the venture.
The project involves a major overhaul and expansion of the school premises, which will centre on the existing main school building, which is listed. Within this building, there are a large number of tiles that have been in situ for many years. Thanks to the regulations stipulated by its listed status, Morgan Sindall is obligated to make sure it stays in keeping with the original design.
Recognising the need for a specialist skillset to bring the tiling up to the requisite standard to reflect the nature of the renovation, Morgan Sindall called us in to carry out the task.
Thanks to the extensive covering of the tiles, which are present throughout the school’s corridors and classrooms, the restoration job is no mean feat, requiring considerable labour. Morgan Sindall has entrusted Plastic Surgeon to refurbish all of the tiles in the building, which will take over 200 working days to complete.
The images you can see give you a flavour of the restoration project, which is ongoing now. We’ll aim to keep you updated on our progress as we go!
