Plastic Surgeon launches Save Our Surfaces campaign at Ecobuild

Plastic Surgeon launches Save Our Surfaces campaign at Ecobuild

The must attend conference and exhibition for sustainable design, construction and the built environment, is again being staged at London’s ExCel centre, from Tuesday the 5th to Thursday the 7th March. And Plastic Surgeon will be there to offer expertise in the field of repair.

Last year, Ecobuild attracted over 57,000 attendees, who enjoyed the cutting-edge educational programme and dozens of interactive attractions, as well as 1,500 plus stands, where new and innovative products and systems were showcased.

This year looks as though it will be just as successful, while our stand can be found at N1420; our repair work making us, surely, one of the most eco-friendly businesses attending the event. Significantly, we will be launching the ‘’ campaign at the show, with the stand itself set up as the ‘Save our Surfaces Repair Clinic’, where visitors will be able to witness live demonstrations of our techniques, and see examples of completed items. Additionally, our repair experts will be on hand to give advice over the three days.

Rob Mouser, our inimitable boss at Plastic Surgeon, explains the thinking behind the ‘Save our Surfaces’ initiative: “The campaign aims to change attitudes to the throw away mentality, get people to think about repairing rather than replacing, and so reduce the vast amounts of perfectly useable items that are sent to landfill every year. If by making the first thought – can that be repaired? – then we will be making a difference and the campaign will be a success”.

We are encouraging as many people as possible to join what we feel is a very worthwhile campaign. Supporters will get regular newsletters offering advice, practical tips and articles on the possibilities of repairing, how to avoid damage in the first place, and what can be repaired.

There will be more than 1,500 other exhibitors at Ecobuild this year, showcasing everything from building structures and micro-renewables to insulation materials and water management systems – it is the must attend event of the year for all involved in the construction industry. We look forward to seeing you on our stand – and we promise you that you will be amazed at our Finishers’ skills.
