Steady increases in cyber attacks to businesses of all sizes has only strengthened our resolve to bolster the security of our systems
The safety of our customers is vital and it’s paramount they have complete confidence and trust in the way we operate.
It’s not just our physical presence in a customer’s home though or on business premises where we need to ensure safety. It’s essential we take our online security just as seriously and safeguard our customers’ personal data at all times.
Although we’re continually developing our systems to ensure a high level of security, given the growing risks of cyber-attacks, we’ve signed up to and subsequently secured the Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation.
Cyber Essentials is a Government backed scheme that helps businesses improve their resilience against cyber-attacks. The volume of these threats are increasing and with more business now being conducted online than ever before everyone should be taking the risk seriously by securing the qualification it ensures we’re ready for many eventualities.
The assessment process for Cyber Essentials Plus involved an independent external certification body visiting the Plastic Surgeon head office to assess our robustness against external online threats and our own internal systems including legacy software checks, browser checks and protection against malicious emails. Following this audit and having demonstrated that we met the relevant criteria, our accreditation was secured.
Dan Snell, Network Security Manager at Plastic Surgeon, said: “Online security is absolutely crucial, and while we’ve always been vigorous in ensuring that we have the right procedures in place, it’s good to have that additional accreditation so that our customers recognise that we’ve taken the necessary protective steps.”
He added: “We take security seriously in every aspect of our organisation, and Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation is just the latest recognition, but one that serves to reinforce our dedication to keeping our clients and customers safe from potential harm.”
Upholding the security of our systems is a key part of our continued growth and maintaining our position as market leader. The Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation does not mean the end of the journey, but the beginning of an ongoing process that will keep us prepared for attacks in the future, protecting our systems from potential data breaches regulated by GDPR and ensuring business continuity at all times.
