Plastic Surgeon tackles five star tent

Plastic Surgeon tackles five star tent

Regular readers of this blog will know that has a long track record of carrying out cosmetic repairs for the country’s top end hotels and other leisure destinations – and more recently, on board luxury cruise liners – but last week brought a call to our Eastern Region which demanded equal care of opulent fixtures and fittings, but in a very different type of setting.

The Home Counties are nowadays home to many multi-millionaires, and one of them has erected a palatial Bedouin tent in the grounds of an equally substantial country house. And the décor, as you might imagine, comprises exquisite fabrics, ornate decorations and even camel hair curtains.

Our task though was to respray all the metalwork on the 40 metre long sliding folding automated door which gives entry to the tent; the client wanting it all to be finished in black rather than the standard silver as delivered.

Eastern Region Operations Director, Colin Tommins despatched one of our most experienced Finishers to carry out the work, which required meticulous preparation and masking of all the glass, prior to getting out the spray gun.

I’m not going to go into the details of the work or Colin’s account here – for the full story visit the Plastic Surgeon website – but the successful outcome illustrates why our company has become the first choice for so many contractors, facilities managers and other clients: in this case a renowned door manufacturer.

Yes, we spend a lot of time and money developing repair techniques for every sort of building substrate, and then training our Finishers to execute them; but it is customer care, flexibility and high standards of supervision which really set us aside from the competition.

This is why we can resurface a giant whirlpool bath on the deck of a busy liner while at sea, or make good chips and gouges in the bedrooms of 5- star hotels and around their public rooms, given a couple of hours when they are not occupied; or polish scratches out of a health spa’s glass balustrade in the dead of night.

With more than 100 highly trained operatives on the road, carrying an amazing array of equipment in their vans, such as different sized spray guns, extractors and hand tools, we have the means to ensure any restaurant, spa, nightclub, hotel bedroom or Bedouin tent comes up to the customer’s expectations.
