Yet another accolade – or two – for Plastic Surgeon

Yet another accolade – or two – for Plastic Surgeon

Hot on the heels of our success at the National Recycling awards, we have been nominated as finalists for two more awards this year.

Plastic Surgeon has been shortlisted at the BIFM Awards 2011 (British Institute of Facilities Management), where we are a finalist for the ‘Innovation in Products’ category.  This is in recognition for the cost-effective, sustainable repair service we offer to facilities managers.

The awards ceremony is to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 10th October, which will host 1200 senior figures in the industry, 80% of whom are at the top of their careers as directors and senior management.

The second accolade comes with the staging of the 2011 Builder & Engineer Awards, where we have been shortlisted for the ‘Product / Innovation of the Year’ category.  Here, it is our VisibilITy software that could scoop the top prize for us at Plastic Surgeon.  But we will be up against stiff competition from other key players in the construction industry, such as Balfour Beatty, Sitex Orbis and The Alumet Group.

The judging board, meanwhile, is equally impressive: Derek Bostock, Director General at The Federation of Master Builders and Ruth Reed, President of RIBA being two of the well-known judges.  Colette McKune, Director of Asset Management at City West Housing Trust will also be on the panel, as will Michael Ankers. Chief Executive for The Construction Products Association.

The ceremony is to be held at the Lancashire County Cricket Ground on the 8th October, and is expected to attract over 500 guests to the newly opened, £12million The Point.

Both of these accolades come on the back of an incredibly successful year for us at Plastic Surgeon, as more people and business across the UK realise the amount of money and hassle we can save them by repairing rather than replacing damaged building products.  These include damaged kitchen worktops, doors, baths, sinks and basins, bidets and toilets, as well as repairing scratches in glass, uPVC cills, stone, bricks and blocks; precisely colour matching the repair so that it is virtually indiscernible to the naked eye.

While our VisibilITY involves our Finishers logging information about each repair via a handheld ‘Mobile Finisher’ or palm pilot – this data is fed into VisibilITy software, which automatically updates customers’ records so that they can see how much they have saved on landfill, access the cost per repair and order statistics – and more.
